We are general agents for Italy and other Mediterranean countries for a number of international shipowners, both in the sector of liner traffic and spot traffic, of tramp vessels. We deal

with the following for them: arrival and departure paperwork with all national authorities, relations with technical and maritime services and all other suppliers, cargo documentation and acquisition, relations with terminals for embarkation and disembarkation, logistics coordination to and from ports, fleet logistics of empty containers, and crew assistance during port calls.

Transport & Logistics

Our logistics offices manage and coordinate all kinds of land transport to and from Italian embarkation and disembarkation ports.

Specifically, we offer intermodal, rail and road services (Container, FTL, LTL) and we deal with all transport-related logistical services: emptying and filling, customs warehousing or temporary storage, customs declarations, storage warehouses, weighing, fumigation and terminal loading and unloading activities for forest products, containers, vehicles, general cargo and project cargo.

Forwarding & Customs Brokerage

We provide customers with an efficient and flexible international forwarding service comprising different methods of transport: sea (LCL, FCL and buyer’s consolidation), air, road and rail. In addition, we develop tailor-made solutions from source to destination for heavy lift (project) and break bulk goods.

As customs brokers, we deal with the formalities required for land, sea and air shipments in import, export and transit. We take care of the placement and removal of goods in the customs warehouse and the placement and removal of goods in the VAT warehouse. We provide assistance with the inspection of goods required by control bodies.

New horizons

Shipyard Industry

Since 2017, Finsea has been one of the shareholders of Genova Industrie Navali (GIN), a group founded in Genoa in 2008 which unites two renowned shipyards in Genoa: Mariotti – specialised in the construction of super-luxury cruise ships – and San Giorgio del Porto – recognised worldwide as a landmark for the repair, maintenance and conversion of any kind of vessel.

Over the years, the GIN group has grown following the acquisition of Chantier Naval de Marseille – a modern and efficient facility in the port of Marseille (France), home to the largest dock in the Mediterranean – and the establishment, together with Fratelli Neri, of Piombino Industrie Marittime – a multi-purpose shipyard with high safety standards in the port of Piombino (Livorno).

GIN Group’s business lines are:

  • New constructions.
  • Ship repair and conversion.
  • Naval outfitting.
  • Ship installations.
  • Superyachts.
  • Ship recycling.

Shipowning

The two shipping companies in which Finsea is a shareholder, Blu Navy and Ichnusa Lines, operate a domestic route between Piombino and Portoferraio (Island of Elba) and an international route between Santa Teresa di Gallura (Sardinia) and Bonifacio (Corsica/France), respectively.
